Types of prescriptions

This is when the prescriber quickly collects a very small number of symptoms and prescribes the remedy off the top of their head. It is McDonalds Medicine. Fast, easy, but rarely the best long term option. While this can be useful, the remedy only works well for a percentage of cases and in certain circumstances.

Acute conditions are issues that are short, self limiting, one-off and caused by a strong morbific agent.

If you are wondering, “What the truck did she say?”. I’ll start by explaining what a strong morbific agent is. It is something external that has severally stressed your body. It could be a physically or emotionally traumatic incident, an injury, a virus, a bacteria, a fungus, a parasite, a poison or something as simple as too much sun. A morbific agent is something that has happened or is happening to you that your body is reacting to.

Issues that “short, self limiting and one-off” means things that if left alone would heal eventually. Such as a mild burn, an insect, sore muscles, a mild flu with symptoms you have not had before.

Acute appointments only take about half an hour. Most people can learn to treat acute conditions themself at home with their own remedy kit and a mentor to help them.

Constitutional issues are conditions that are long term which can require a high level of skill to reverse. They are for tackling issues that have been in the patients’ life for a while and are not self limiting, meaning the issues will not simply go away if you wait a week or two. The goal of a constitutional appointment is to trigger the body to heal at it is deepest level.

Constitutional appointments are not one appointment. They are a minimum of two to three appointments. Where the practitioner follow ups the patients progress and adjusts the prescription as their condition moves through the body.
